Standout Volunteers

Windsor’s Razzat Sivia (pictured here) didn’t need One Change to tell her about the importance of fuel efficiency. A member of the Riverside Secondary School Green Team, Razzat is well aware of the negative impact greenhouse gases have on our environment.

Some people wait around for opportunity to come their way. Other people actively seek it out. Omowunmi Victoria Dawodu (pictured here) is the type to go looking.

On October 10, the One Change team made its way to Windsor for the Ford Essex Engine Plant blitz. We were there to help inform Ford employees about the choices they can make to protect the environment, including using one of our free digital tire gauges to help maintain correct tire pressure. It was all part of our fuel efficiency campaign, which is sponsored by Canadian Tire

Ottawa’s Saania Tairq (pictured here, centre) got involved with One Change’s fuel efficiency campaign so that she could apply the volunteer hours toward credit at A.Y. Jackson Secondary School. But when the Grade 9 student came out on October 31 to help distribute free digital tire gauges at our Kanata Canadian Tire event, she quickly discovered that she was doing something meaningful

The Brantford EcoHawks is a student-run volunteer environmental committee at Wilfrid Laurier University’s Brantford Campus. On November 2, One Change proudly teamed up with the group of dedicated students, helping to promote green living by distributing free digital tire gauges and engaging in conversations about fuel efficiency across the campus

The annual Smiths Falls Lions Club Pickle Fest was the place to be this September 11. Not only did One Change sample crispy dills, sweet pickles, tomato relish and plum butter, we also spread the word about our fuel efficiency campaign, and recruited one exceptional volunteer for our area Canadian Tire event

It all began with one simple action: knocking on the door of Ottawa’s Cindy Goyette (pictured here, left). The One Change team came across Cindy’s home while delivering free digital tire gauges throughout the city as part of our fuel efficiency campaign, which is sponsored by Canadian Tire

Chet and Pat Skibinski (pictured here, from left) have a lot of energy. They put theirs to good use on October 14 when they decided to help empower others with the tools and knowledge to conserve energy and resources. The unstoppable couple—who are both fitness instructors—took some time to volunteer for One Change’s fuel efficiency Campaign Blitz in Toronto.
