Volunteers will hit the streets of downtown Toronto on Thursday, October 14th in support of the One Change Fuel Efficiency Campaign, sponsored by Canadian Tire. They will distribute 5,000 free digital tire gauges over the lunch hour to help spread the word that “simple actions matter”, including checking and maintaining tire pressure for improved fuel efficiency. Beginning at 11:30 a.m. at Oakham House, Ryerson Student Conferencing Centre, Stuart Hickox, founder and president of One Change will kick-off the blitz with a demonstration of how to check tire pressure. Allan MacDonald, senior vice-president, automotive, Canadian Tire will also be on-hand to explain the importance of checking tire pressure.
With this campaign, One Change and Canadian Tire aim to raise awareness about tire pressure and its link to fuel efficiency. Over the course of the campaign, which began September 6th and continues until November 7th, One Change will be providing more than 150,000 free digital tire gauges and educating Ontarians that simple actions can save money and help protect the environment. To date more than 50,000 tire gauges have been distributed across the province, and more than 20 events will take place at Canadian Tire stores in the Toronto area throughout the campaign.
